Administrative History

The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is a professional organization whose mission it is to shape American higher education by developing the standards and procedures that maintain quality in education and academic freedom in the country's colleges and universities. In 1963 Grand Valley received an invitation from Aquinas College to attend a meeting of the organization. In 1966 the Grand Valley Chapter drafted a constitution and in 1968 joined the Michigan Conference.
