Scope and Contents

From the Series: Series contains video tape, audio tape, and motion picture film collected and created for the production of Fei Hu: The Story of the Flying Tigers documentary. Videotapes in this series are primarily broadcast-quality Betacam, but the series also includes a smaller number of U-matic, VHS, and Betacam SP cassettes. Included in this series are original, unedited interviews with veterans of the American Volutneer Group conducted by producer Frank Boring, reproductions of original film footage from the 1940s, as well as graphics, masters, and related materials. Motion picture films, mostly 8mm, contain original 1940s footage collected from AVG members, depicting activities of the AVG and Chinese Air Force in China. Audio tapes are primarily cassettes, but include several reel-to-reel tapes and DAT (digital audio tape). Audiocassettes mostly consist of the audio tracks from AVG videotaped interviews, while the DATs contain narration and additional audio used in the film.
