In the late 1990s, faculty and staff members and students served on a task force to research development of a women's center at the request of faculty, staff and students. The Women's Center was established in 2001 to create meaningful learning experience about women and gender and to advocate for gender justice through the education, engagement, and empowerment of women students and the greater GVSU community. The Center partners with students, faculty, and staff to offer comprehensive and progressive programs, services, and initiatives. Her Story, a lunchtime lecture series sponsored by the Women's Center, offers an opportunity for the GVSU community to listen to the authentic stories of women in leadership positions at GVSU. This collection includes video recordings of each lecture.
