AAUP Grand Valley Chapter files
Abstract
The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is a professional organization whose mission it is to shape American higher education by developing the standards and procedures that maintain quality in education and academic freedom in the country's colleges and universities. In 1963 Grand Valley received an invitation from Aquinas College to attend a meeting of the organization. In 1966 the Grand Valley Chapter drafted a constitution and in 1968 joined the Michigan Conference. The establishment and work of the Grand Valley Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is documented in this collection. Files include correspondence, the constitution, reports, minutes, and newsletters of the Grand Valley Chapter. It also includes materials from the state and national organizations, and a Presidential performance opinion survey conducted in 1980.
