The Edward V. Gillis collection includes magazines posters, maps, other published and some unpublished materials on different aspects of human culture and anthropology, with an emphasis on Native American people, events, organizations, and activities in Michigan and throughout the United States.

Biography
Edward V. Gillis was from Grand Rapids. He worked in tool and manufacturing companies including Jarecki Corporation and Tanis Iron Works. The collection that he donated was a personal collection of publications created by and about Native Americans.
