Biographical / Historical

University Libraries created an exhibit for display in fall semester of 2016 titled "Connected" which featured audio clips of students sharing their stories and experiences at GVSU. The clips were combined with an interactive watercolor painting activity. Students were encouraged to paint 3" circles of paper to illustrate their current feelings about the college experience and attach them to the gallery wall. The aim of the exhibit was to inspire feelings of community, connectedness, and welcome to new and returning students. The exhibit was created by library faculty and staff including Erin Fisher, Emily Frigo, Cara Cadena, and Gayle Schaub; with artwork by Grand Valley alumna Ellie Lubbers.
