Biographical Notes
Dr. Albert Leffingwell, M.D. (1845-1916) was an American physician and advocate for the vivisection reform, who served as president of the American Humane Association. He authored many books and pamphlets about cruel abuses of animal experimentation and called for regulation. He also sought a middle-ground between the anti-vivisection societies which called for complete abolition of animal experimentation and those who rejected any restraints on science.
