The Grand Valley Writing Center, part of the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies Fred Meijer Center for Writing and Michigan Authors, was created in 1979. It began as a student academic tutoring resource that was introduced along with the SWS program. Boccaccio's Discourse began in 1996 and ended after the 1999-2000 academic year, but changed the title to Write Club at the beginning of the 2000-2001 academic year. Collection contains issues of the newsletter.
Collection contains the business and personal papers of James Boring, spanning from 1949 to 1986. The business files primarily document Boring's activities as the Director of Ground Transportation Division of Air Asia Company Limited in Taipei, Taiwan in the 1960s and early 1970s. Also included in the collection are personal papers, including documentation of Boring's employment history, moving records, personal correspondence.

The Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies at GVSU challenges students to integrate the perspectives, knowledge, and methodologies of multiple fields of study. It offers several major and minor areas of study which have social justice components to them, such as Liberal Studies; Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Area Studies; LGBTQ Studies; and Environmental Studies. Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies was named after Jim and Donna Brooks of Holland, Michigan.
