Cass County Underground Railroad research collection
The collection consists of photocopies of original documents and articles, and newspaper clippings ca. 1841-2008, related to the Underground Railroad, and genealogies of Underground Railroad operatives, free African Americans, and fugitives seeking freedom and their descendents.
Elizabeth Cecil writings and correspondence
The Elizabeth Cecil collection documents the work of Ms. Cecil written under the pseudonym Clarence Conway. Her correspondence with acquaintances and publishers document her efforts to publish her work. Writings include short stories, plays, poems, songs, short essays and scenarios for movies.
Center for Continuing Education annual report
This annual report is a summary of the continuing education activities conducted during the 1978-1979 fiscal year. The report represents a variety of academic units that extend programs to evening and off campus students. A review of the programs and relevant statistical data are included.
Faculty research and distinguished contribution award files
Research and Development files from 1969, maintained by Chair Howard Stein and others, include minutes, memos and correspondence, other administrative records and reports, and grant proposal files. Funded and denied grant proposal files from 1977/8 for research support may also include Human Research Committee files, stipends, and travel files. Civil War patriotic envelopes
The patriotic envelope was a war-time propaganda phenomenon produced by both the North and the South during the Civil War. This collection of primarily Union patriotic envelopes depicts battles, flags, eagles, political satire, and caricatures of Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Gen. McClellan, Col. Elmore Ellsworth, and other political heroes. Envelopes often have mottos and verses. They were first made for the mails and then as souvenirs.

College of Education Master's projects and theses
The College of Education offers a program of teacher instruction and training. The program emphasizes learning theory and inquiry combined with practical application. In 1964 Educational Studies Institute was founded. In 1980 School of Education joined the College of Arts and Sciences. In 2004 the unit became the College of Education (COE). Includes project reports and Masters theses that reflect on Grand Valley State University as a subject.

The series contains the Quadrennial Report of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (2004-2006) and the Scholarly and Creative Achievements in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (2009, 2016-2017).
